Lovis Heuss (they/them), a trans-disciplinary artist from Zurich, utilizes sonic experiences and multi-faceted performances as a medium to challenge binary gender hegemonies. Their work is interlocked in collective practices- it’s about community-making, sharing knowledge, giving voice, and making space for marginalized experiences.

Lovis’ artistic practice fuses sonic and performative exploration, converting these elements into spatial installations. These installations, in turn, metamorphose into dynamic spaces for public engagement and discourse. In their drag expression, Lovis intertwines performative objects and narratives with elements of pop culture, navigating the complex terrain of queer community issues such as normativity, embodiment, and trans-queer-crip intersectionalities.

Consequently, a key element of their practice includes the active involvement of other queer/trans/non-binary artists, creating (safer) spaces, making room for vulnerability, support, and empowerment, thereby fostering community engagement.
